Record Snowfall Feb
1- 9, 2011
Tulsa had a record 24 hour snowfall
of 14" at the airport on Feb 1, 2011. At our house we had
19" in the driveway with
drifts in the back 3-3.5 feet. Temperature is around 10 degrees
with overnight lows about -5 and not expected to get above
freezing for 4 more days and then only into the upper 30's or
low 40's. More snow predicted 2 days later.
The temperature 48 hours before the
storm was 76 degrees.
Update - Saturday Feb 5, 2011. We got
an additional 3.5" on snow on Friday and more is expected
Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday (up to an additional 12").
We are currently
only 2" from record year and this has happened in one week.
Update - Thursday Feb 10, 2011. We
got an additional 8" of snow on Tuesday-Wednesday bringing
total for the 8 days to 30.5" of snow.
Some location just north of Tulsa got up to 25" during the
Tue-Wed storm. Today we set record cold at -14 degrees while 35 miles
north it was -27 degrees.
Predicted high for this Saturday is in the low 60's
